I am very excited about this because one of the podcast was about Western Kentucky where I'm from. I found this semi hard but caught on a little bit because my partner on this was Toby and he is a very good teacher.

Pat Groh and I did the Instant messaging together with the help from Jennifer, We had a lot of fun because we used the acronym dictionary and had to keep looking on the cheat sheet to see what we were saying. On one message I used nothing but acronyms it was a lot of fun.

This is the first of my Skokie 10. I had a lot of help since I am technically impaired. I think this exercise will help me to be a little better with my computer skills (hopefully).

Politics is a complicated subject for me. I love my country and I am a patriot through and through. This country is not perfect and there are some things that we have done as a nation that I am ashamed of, however we are free to worship as we please and there are many other freedoms and opportunities that I am very thankful for as an American citizen. I am what you could call a yellow dog democrat. In other words the democrats could run a yellow dog and I would vote for them. My entire life I have cared about civil and human rights a lot. I believe we have a responsibility to care for others and our planet as well. The democratic party and the candidates are not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but their ideology in general hits at the heart of the matter for me on most issues. Poverty and the lack of health care are crippling our nation along with a war that was both illegal and immoral. As a Baha'i social justice and world peace are very important objectives so there is a connection there as well. I was raised a Christian and discovered the Baha'i Faith as an adult. One of our beliefs is to avoid political arguments because many times it becomes very negative and does nothing to promote peace and our relationship with God. However, we also believe that we are supposed to observe our civic duties and voting is one of those precious duties, privileges and responsibilities that I take seriously.Sometimes I will try to have a constructive conversation about a political candidate and when it turns ugly and hateful I vow not to be lured into that again. It is hard because I care and want our nation to live up to our potential. I do think we should use our brains and make intelligent choices. As a Baha'i I am praying for peace and prosperity for all people on this planet regardless of what flag they sleep under tonight.
